Why Qcells?
Choosing Qcells means embracing cutting-edge technology and high-quality craftsmanship that extends beyond just solar panels. Their holistic approach encompasses every aspect of solar energy systems, from panels to inverters and beyond, all manufactured within the United States.
Why SolarEdge?
SolarEdge has been in business since 2006 and is the leading manufacturer of residential string inverters and optimizers. They are constantly exploring new offerings to present a suite of advanced products for homeowners, including energy management and storage.
Why Enphase?
Enphase is the world leader in microinverter technology. Microinverters are more expensive than string inverters, but they have a very long lifespan and low failure rates, so the long term savings, stability, and aesthetics of not running conduit on the roof are all strong selling points. These are always a great option for homes with multiple roof planes that face different directions, to capture the most sunlight at various times of day.
What Does “Inverter to be Determined” Mean on the HIA?
- The Inverter is responsible for converting the direct current (DC) electricity produced by the solar panels into alternating current (AC) which is the type of power used in the home, so we must pick our inverter carefully based on the size of the system.
- We will use different-sized inverters depending on the overall size of the solar system when SolarEdge is the option we move forward with. If Enphase microinverters are chosen, then each panel will have its own inverter in the currently-available model.
What kind of Monitoring is available?
- With both SolarEdge and Enphase, the customer and our support teams have access to the online monitoring portal. Customers will receive monitoring access after their system has been activated.
- Depending on the cellular service and/or availability of Wi-Fi at the customer’s home, the system may need to rely on a built-in Cell Kit or have one added at installation in order to have the monitoring connect to the internet and report production regularly.
- We offer Service Plans of varying term length if the system is down or in need of maintenance.
Warranties
- All manufacturers we utilize offer a manufacturer warranty. Check out the spec sheets available here
